The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services seeks a Social Services Specialist - Safety to investigate reports of child maltreatment including abuse, neglect, exploitation, and human trafficking. The position involves conducting home visits, safety assessments, court testimony, and collaboration with law enforcement and other stakeholders in Jones County. This is a time-limited 14‑month role requiring extensive on‑site and on‑the‑job training with on‑call availability.
KeyQualifications
- Valid driver's license and insurance required
- Bachelor's degree in social work, social services, psychology, or related field
- 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle unpredictable work environment and work on‑call after hours
