Job DescriptionTo appropriately complete the initial evaluation for students suspected as having a disability and the reevaluation process for those students who have a disability in accordance with the requirements of State and Federal regulations and the procedures of ESS.
Job Requirements- License: Possess a valid license from MDE (Mississippi Endorsement Code 213).
- Education: Specialist’s degree in psychology, educational psychology, or related discipline preferred, but not required.
- Training: Training in personality assessment and preschool assessment desired, but not required.
- Degree: Master degree preferred.

Job GoalTo appropriately complete the initial evaluation for students suspected as having a disability and the reevaluation process for those student who have a disability in accordance with the requirements of State and Federal regulations and the procedures of ESS.
Essential Functions- Participates in district assessment meetings to determine appropriate areas to be assessed and appropriate tests to be administered to each child referred for assessment.
- Plans, conducts, and/or interprets assessment data for children preschool through high school in accordance with accepted practices in psycho educational evaluation.
- Implements State and Federal requirements as well as guidelines from ESS regarding assessment within required timelines.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the current State and Federal mandates for assessing students for initial evaluation and reevaluation.
- Compiles assessment data for submission to the multidisciplinary eligibility team in accordance with ESS procedures.
- Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings for determining the need for evaluation and/or eligibility determinations, as required.
- Attends IEP meetings and other related meetings, as needed, to assist school personnel and parents with the understanding of the assessment data and results of testing.
- Keeps continually informed regarding current research in the area of psychometrics.
- Maintains schedule and accountability of service provision in accordance with EES requirements.
- Assumes primary responsibility for assigned therapy materials, tests, and equipment.
- Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.

Range: $ - $80,078.00 annually
