Applications Developer Team Lead

Location: 34 - JONES COUNTY, MS

Salary: $73,673.08 - $ annually

Agency: Ellisville State School – a state‑operated regional program that provides comprehensive services to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Mission: enrich their lives by providing a foundation of independence and empowerment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate application development efforts supporting agency operations.
  • Provide hands‑on technical expertise in design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise applications.
  • Supervise and guide a team of developers, establish priorities, and ensure adherence to established standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure the delivery of reliable, secure, and efficient applications.
  • Review and approve application designs and code, monitor system performance, and lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex issues.
  • Maintain proper system documentation and evaluate emerging technologies to recommend enhancements.
  • Work closely with internal IT staff, external vendors, and service providers to support application‑related initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in applications development and support.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Sound technical knowledge of Visual Basic, SQL Server, Crystal Reports, .NET, and Visual Fox Pro preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, time‑management, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to an unpredictable work environment and solve problems creatively.
