Job Description
OCI Secrets Service is a foundational tier‑0 service that plays a critical role in secure OCI and customer services. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for helping design, build, test, deploy and operate highly scalable Secrets services for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Cryptography division. You will raise the bar for high standard for security, scalability, availability, resilience and compliance.
You should be capable of applying basic to intermediate knowledge of software design and architecture, to build and operate highly secure and available cloud services, according to provided design goals. You will build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture. You should also find yourself comfortable in a fast‑paced, result‑driven and collaborative environment to deliver customer values and mitigate production issues.
Most meaningfully, you should be a team player, someone who is eager to learn, and willing to go above and beyond to help the team succeed.
- Design and develop new features or enhance existing functionality of Secrets services.
- Apply engineering principles for defining robust and maintainable, highly secure and available cloud service.
- Adopt the OCI standard tools and Dev Ops standards, and practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve security, scalability, and resiliency of products and services.
- Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex problems.
- Collaborate broadly across multiple disciplines and organizations to deliver security solutions and features.
- Large/enterprise scale software development and engineering experience, particularly with cloud services and distributed systems.
- Hands‑on experience driving design, implementation and operation of cloud services.
- Experience collaborating with geo‑distributed teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to all audiences.
- BS/CS Computer Science or equivalent field, and 3+ years software development experience in Java/C++ or similar OO language.
- Security specific knowledge and experience (Cryptography, HSMs etc) are preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix fundamentals is helpful, but not required.

Hiring Range in USD from: $92,500 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non‑overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment.
Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation. - 11 paid holidays.
