About the AgencyThe Mississippi Department of Transportation is responsible for providing a safe intermodal transportation network that is planned, designed, constructed, and maintained in an effective, cost-efficient, and environmentally sensitive manner.
About the PositionThis position is with the Mississippi Department of Transportation and is located in Hinds County. The official MSPB classification title is Transportation Infrastructure Maintenance Technician II. This is a second-level vocational position located in the Traffic Engineering Division. The incumbent will perform technical maintenance and equipment operation work involving transportation infrastructure, traffic control support, traffic signal repair, sign installation and maintenance, striping, pothole patching, and related roadway maintenance activities.
The incumbent may also assist with herbicide, pesticide, snow, and ice chemical application; operate and maintain more complex equipment; support traffic control operations; and respond to natural or man-made disasters as needed. The selected candidate must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and be willing to work throughout the Central Region of the State as needed to support departmental operations and project requirements.
