POSITION SUMMARY

The Logistics Coordinator has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities assigned on a daily basis. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Operations Lead oversees associates dedicated to receiving, shipping, and warehousing of products, aligning with company service and cost objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Training Responsibilities
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates in specific distribution activities to meet customer demands.
  • Provide training on current Standard Operating Procedures, including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
  • Assist with forklift operation and certification for associates.
Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities
  • Oversee unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and picking and staging of outbound shipments for maximum productivity.
  • Verify inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers and ensure accurate product counts.
  • Load orders accurately according to appropriate doors and trailers.
  • Process all shipping/receiving/picking functions as defined by SOPs and research discrepancies.
Customer Service
  • Maintain a professional appearance and communication style.
  • Communicate with customers via telephone, email, or in person.
  • Prepare required activity reports for site management.
Quality Control Responsibilities
  • Use documentation to ensure all products/orders are correctly received or shipped and accurately picked.
  • Verify product quality and report damage or discrepancies; stack, package, shrink wrap, and label product.
  • Process quality control functions as defined by SOPs.
  • Report inconsistencies to the Operations Supervisor or Manager and participate in quality meetings.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
  • Comply with ISO standards, safety protocols, and OSHA/MSDS standards.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and security.
  • Participate in safety meetings.
Labor Management
  • Direct warehouse work teams to meet objectives.
  • Assist associates and temporary labor with productivity sheets and payroll hours.
  • Help maintain a productive workforce and establish schedules.
  • Ensure jobs are assigned and completed correctly.
Responsibility and Authority
  • Participate in department meetings.
  • Initiate actions to prevent non-conformities and recommend solutions.
  • Bring all non-conformities to the Quality Department.
Equipment Operation
  • Operate equipment such as sit‑down, stand‑up, reach trucks, sweepers, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks.
  • Maintain equipment, report problems, and perform daily inspections and minor maintenance.
  • Operate all equipment safely and maintain active forklift certification.
Maintenance
  • Assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
Other Duties
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, record keeping.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of logistics or distribution experience.
  • Ability to operate MHE.
  • Must work in unregulated temperatures ranging from mild to moderate.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
  • Completion of a forklift training program.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES Computer Skills
  • Basic computer skills.
  • RF scanner and WMS usage.
Language Skills
  • English (reading, writing, verbal).
Mathematical Skills
  • Basic to intermediate level for inventory verification and quantity checks.
Other
  • Strong attention to detail and timely task completion.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication across all organizational levels.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2–4 years of experience in warehouse/logistics/distribution.
  • 2–4 years proven forklift experience.
  • Current or prior MHE certification.
