** Summary*
* The Operator 1 is responsible for operating a variety of machinery such as saws, presses, and drills to fabricate railcar component parts to meet close and complex tolerances.
** Duties and Responsibilities*
* _To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices._
+ Assembles and grinds products such as carbon and stainless steel, or aluminum, using grinders, tables or conveyor systems.
+ Uses hand tools such as wrenches, electric tools, and ratchets.
+ Monitors output and proper operation of mechanical equipment.
+ Adjusts parts to ensure quality requirements are met.
+ Conducts regular inspections of parts produced through measurements.
+ Reads drawings and follows production standards.
+ Uses common measuring equipment such as tape measures.

** Minimum Qualifications*
* + 6+ months experience operating various types of manufacturing equipment and machinery
+ Ability to operate a computer to run reports, send and receive communication, etc.
+ Ability to work in a team or independently
** Preferred Qualifications*
* + High School diploma or equivalent
+ Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and work instructions
+ 1+ years experience in operating various types of manufacturing equipment and machinery
