The Fraunhofer Institute for Resource Management and Resource Strategy IWKS develops circular materials and material science technologies for an ultimately sustainable, waste-free circular economy. What You Will Do

Students have the opportunity to complete their thesis (Bachelor/Master) in one of our research areas, administration, or within the technical field and actively participate in current, application-oriented projects. Valuable experience can be gained in future-relevant fields of activity. Research:
Are you interested in the development of circular materials and technologies in the sustainable circular economy? In project teams, you will work with universities, other Fraunhofer institutes, and industry partners on the resource-efficient recovery of innovative materials. Magnetic Materials:
The development of recycling strategies and technologies for end-of-life magnets as well as for production waste. Energy Materials:
Development of recycling processes and concepts for the circular economy of batteries, fuel cells, PV modules, and e-motors. Digitalization of Resources:
Management of material flows to improve resource utilization efficiency and the application of intelligent separation and sorting technologies. Administration:
Are you interested in business-related topics and enjoy administrative processes as well as dealing with people? You actively support your team and external partners with your knowledge and willingness to help, e.g., in your working environment such as purchasing, project controlling, human resources department, and accounting. Technical:
You have already acquired theoretical knowledge in the technical field, either in information technology or in building technology. With your technical know-how and practical approach, you support our research teams in daily operations and contribute to ensuring that our infrastructure functions smoothly.

What You Bring

• Research: Enrolled student, preferably from the STEM study areas
• Administration/Technical: For interested individuals in administration and technical/IT:
  Business Administration degree with a focus on human resources, purchasing, etc. / Engineering degree/IT-Information Technology, etc. Ideally, you bring first experiences in project work in the research-related area with an interest in the topics surrounding sustainability, recycling, and new technologies. You are familiar with the common office applications; knowledge of SAP is an advantage
