This is a full‑time, commissioned career opportunity that can be hybrid based out of our Jackson, NJ location.
Solicits first mortgages through contacts with realtors, builders, and developers. Work with customers and prospective customers to assist them in identifying and securing a mortgage loan that is appropriate for their individual financial circumstances and is designed to help them achieve their financial goals, including home ownership.
- Develop and expand referral sources to solicit first mortgages. Maintain regular contact with Realtors in their offices and on site at open house events. Meet with builders on job sites to discuss lending options. Regularly seek opportunities to meet with developers and participate in building and trade shows. Participate in mixers related to real estate to build and forge new relationships.
- Collect and analyze applicant’s financial information typically at one of the organization’s branch locations to assess qualification. Interview applicants and gather required information, including income, assets, investments, debt, credit history, prior bankruptcies, judgments, liens, and property characteristics. Identify customer needs, evaluate with available financial products, recommend products that best meet the customer’s needs with clear risk and benefit explanations, and recommend terms and conditions of mortgage loans.
- Engage in customer‑specific persuasive sales activity to encourage potential customers to do business with the company and cross‑promote other services and financial products to external referral sources.
- Perform work related to the loans originated: obtain and analyze financial and credit data; follow current loans for conformity; follow up with customers via telephone and email; complete paperwork; prepare materials; attend company meetings as necessary; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements; communicate with the customer throughout the process.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience1 or more years recent residential mortgage lending experience, including experience in the local market. Experience in the Fulton Mortgage Company Associate Mortgage Loan Officer Program may be accepted in lieu of 1 year required residential mortgage lending experience.
1 or more years proven ability to develop referral sources from contacts and relationships outside the organization.
This role may perform other job duties as assigned by the manager. Each employee of the Organization, regardless of position, is accountable for reading, understanding and acting on the contents of all Company‑assigned and/or job‑related Compliance Programs, regulations and policies and procedures, as well as ensuring that all Compliance Training assignments are completed by established due dates. This includes but is not limited to, understanding and identifying compliance risks impacting their department(s), ensuring compliance with applicable laws or regulations, and escalating compliance risks to the appropriate level of management.
This position is fully commissioned.
