Description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to lead people operations for a multi-site organization in Jackson, New Jersey. This role oversees employee relations, onboarding compliance, labor matters, and policy execution across locations in multiple states. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, knowledge of employment law, and the ability to support leaders in maintaining a compliant, productive, and engaged workforce.

Responsibilities:

- Guide HR strategy and day-to-day people practices to support organizational goals across multiple locations.

- Oversee compliance with federal, state, and healthcare workforce regulations, ensuring employment practices meet all applicable requirements.

- Manage onboarding processes by confirming required employee documentation is collected accurately and in accordance with state-specific standards.

- Lead employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and performance-related guidance for managers.

- Direct termination processes and provide recommendations to leadership to ensure consistent, compliant decision-making and documentation.

- Serve as the primary HR partner for union-related issues, including contract interpretation, grievance handling, labor meetings, and support during collective bargaining activities.

- Advise executive, regional, and site leadership on HR policies, workforce planning, retention efforts, and succession initiatives.

- Review workforce trends and staffing data to identify opportunities that improve retention, productivity, and overall employee engagement.

- Support compensation, benefits, and training programs by partnering with leadership on pay practices, vendor coordination, and compliance education.

- Travel to facilities as needed to provide on-site HR support, reinforce best practices, and address operational workforce needs.

Requirements

- 5+ years of Human Resources experience, including leadership responsibility in a multi-site environment.

- Strong knowledge of employment law across multiple states, including wage and hour requirements and employee documentation standards.

- Experience handling employee relations issues, workplace investigations, disciplinary matters, and terminations.

- Background supporting unionized work forces, with practical understanding of grievance processes and labor agreement administration.

- Prior experience in the healthcare industry.

- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and workforce management systems used for HR administration and reporting.

- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to advise leaders at multiple levels.

- Ability to manage onboarding compliance and maintain accurate HR records in a regulated environment.
