We are currently seeking an energetic, customer-focused, and results-driven Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Spring Step Shoes located in Jackson Premium Outlets in Jackson, NJ.

Position Summary

The Assistant Store Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting the Store Manager with the daily operations of the store. This individual will help drive sales performance, deliver exceptional customer service, develop team members, and ensure operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is passionate about retail, enjoys leading and motivating others, and thrives in a fast-paced sales environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Store Manager in all aspects of daily store operations
  • Help drive store sales and achieve performance goals
  • Deliver and model exceptional customer service standards
  • Coach, train, and motivate store associates to maximize performance
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and employee development
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards and store presentation
  • Support inventory management, stock organization, and loss prevention procedures
  • Ensure compliance with opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and operational policies
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
  • Serve as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Store Manager
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of retail leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong customer service and sales skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Experience with POS systems and basic computer applications
  • Footwear or fashion retail experience is a plus
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to bend, climb ladders, and move merchandise as needed
