Job Overview
The TEMP Sales Lead is a role model Bear Builder who has the additional responsibilities of Floor Leader on Duty during designated shifts. During those times the Sales Lead provides direction to Bear Builders, models Experience First® behaviors, and focuses on achieving store sales goals. When not on duty the Sales Lead functions as a Bear Builder.
ResponsibilitiesFloor Leader on Duty Role:
- Be a role model to others by providing exceptional Guest service to ensure a memorable experience.
- Guide, support, and direct a team of associates to ensure smooth store operations and the achievement of sales goals.
- Model Experience First behaviors.
- Provide feedback to the management team to make them aware of performance and compliance issues that the CWM and AWM are responsible for addressing.
Bear Builder Role:
- Provide exceptional Guest service by actively engaging with Guests using the Experience First Make Behaviors.
- Create a warm and inclusive atmosphere for Guests, fostering positive interactions and guaranteeing each Guest leaves satisfied with their experience.
- Uphold operational excellence by consistently meeting brand standards and guidelines, ensuring a seamless and cohesive experience for all Guests.
- Display strong team commitment, being dependable, engaged, and helpful.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Availability to work 15‑25 hours per week.
- Build‑A‑Bear store associate experience.
- Associate’s (or higher) degree in business, management, or a related field.
- Thrives in an Experience First environment.
- Connects with and inspires others to achieve results.
- Enjoys meeting and interacting with new people.
- Possesses a “How can I help” attitude.
- Strong desire to develop, train, and support others’ success.
- Exercises good judgment in ambiguous situations.

- Able to remain calm when faced with challenging circumstances.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to sit, stand, and move around for duration of shift.
- Work environments include indoor/outdoor malls, strip centers, and other retail locations.
- Lift > 25 pounds.
- Decision‑making, judgment, and execution.
- Ability to create an Experience First culture for Guests and associates.

Associates also have the ability to earn a monthly bonus based on their store’s sales results vs. plans.
PAY RANGE: $18.50–$19.00/Hour.
