Description
Position SummaryThe Regional Manager leads a portfolio of New Gen Holdings, LLC dispensaries within an assigned geographic region and is accountable for the operational, compliance, and people performance of every store. The Regional Manager develops Store Managers, drives execution of NGH standards across every site, supports execution of regional strategy in partnership with the Director of Commercial Operations, and represents NGH with landlords and community partners.
This role is responsible for translating company strategy into store-level execution and for building a strong leadership bench across the region.
- Partner with the Director of Commercial Operations to communicate and execute regional operational and people targets aligned to company strategy.
- Conduct regular store visits using the NGH Store Visit Standard; document findings and action items.
- Lead the regional leadership meeting cadence (monthly business reviews, quarterly leadership offsites).
- Provide input to Marketing, Purchasing, and Cultivation on regional promotions and supply needs; final decisions on assortment, procurement, and promotions remain with those departments.
- Hire, develop, coach, and where necessary exit Store Managers across the region.
- Build a deliberate bench of Assistant Managers and Store Managers within the region.
- Conduct annual and mid-year performance reviews; create individual development plans.
- Lead onboarding for new Store Managers and certify their readiness to operate independently.
- Partner with the Director of Commercial Operations to execute against store-level sales, margin, and EBITDA targets across the region.
- Identify and act on margin, labor, shrink, and discount trends impacting performance.
- Ensure full compliance with state cannabis regulations and NGH SOPs across every store in the region.
- Support store-level teams in preparing documentation and materials for regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance matters; direct communication with state regulatory authorities is managed at the store level.
- Partner with Compliance, Security, and HR on investigations and risk mitigation.
- Champion a region-wide culture of safety, integrity, and zero tolerance for compliance violations.
- Set and uphold the customer experience standard across every store in the region.
- Lead the regional response to customer escalations that cannot be resolved at store level.
- Represent NGH externally with landlords, vendors, community partners, and local officials.
- Drive consistent execution of brand standards, merchandising, and signature programs.
- Minimum 5 years of multi-unit retail, hospitality, or service leadership experience, with at least 2 years managing managers.
- Demonstrated success delivering P&L results across multiple locations.
- Proven ability to develop Store Managers and build a leadership pipeline.
- Strong analytical, communication, and executive presence skills.
- Working knowledge of POS, seed-to-sale, scheduling, and HRIS platforms.
- Ability to travel extensively across the assigned region (typically 60–80%).
- Must hold or be able to obtain all required state cannabis employee licenses/badges.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- MBA or other advanced degree in business, operations, or related field.
- Prior regional or district leadership experience in licensed cannabis or other regulated retail (alcohol, pharmacy).
- Demonstrated experience leading new-store openings, remodels, or acquisitions.
- Existing relationships with state cannabis regulators in NGH's operating states.
This position directly supervises Store Managers across the assigned region and indirectly leads all Assistant Managers, Key Holders, Inventory Leads, and bud tenders within those stores.
