Staff Accountant

We are looking for a staff accountant to support daily accounting operations and help maintain accurate financial records for the organization in Jackson, Tennessee. This role is well suited for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working across core accounting functions. The position will contribute to month-end activities, tax-related work, and general ledger accuracy while partnering with internal teams to keep financial processes running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial activity is recorded completely and accurately.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain reliable financial reporting.
• Assist with the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Support sales tax reporting by gathering data, reviewing transactions, and helping submit timely filings.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, including account analysis and supporting documentation.
• Review financial records for accuracy and consistency, resolving issues in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Help maintain organized accounting documentation and schedules to support audits and internal reviews.
• Contribute to accounting process improvements and support changes to financial workflows or systems when needed.
