Location: Shelby, MT or Cut Bank, MT.
Division: Public Safety Division, Probation and Parole Bureau.
Summary: The Administrative Assistant provides a range of administrative, developmental, and operational support activities to assist agency work.
Responsibilities- Manage phone calls for the assigned office and refer complaints and concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Create and prepare letters, memos, forms, meeting schedules, and reports using word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software.
- Maintain data logs in established software programs and produce statistical information upon request.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, and make all necessary travel arrangements for staff.
- Serve as the daily initial contact with offenders, visitors, and others who may be hostile or under the influence of substances.
- Travel to alternate office (Shelby or Cut Bank) up to 25% of the time.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 1–2 years of job‑related work experience, or other education/experience combinations considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.
- Ability to handle confidential information and maintain professionalism in potentially hostile situations.
Hourly Pay: $22.97 (subject to an $1.00 increase or 2.5% effective July 1 2026 per HB13).
Telework: Not eligible.
