Job SummaryThe General Manager (GM) oversees day‑to‑day operations of a Meow Wolf exhibition, ensuring each day delivers excellence while staying true to Meow Wolf’s purpose, vision, and values. The GM focuses on operational excellence, managing all aspects of the facility, including food and beverage, retail, guest service, safety, and staff leadership.
Job Responsibilities- Operational Leadership – Manage ticketing, retail, food & beverage, facilities, exhibition, and safety & security; ensure efficient operations and high‑quality guest experience.
- Team Leadership and Development – Coach and develop a high‑performing team of managers; provide training, performance feedback, and growth opportunities; foster teamwork, excellence, morale, and accountability.
- Guest Service Excellence – Maintain a guest‑first mindset; resolve guest concerns promptly; monitor real‑time feedback to improve satisfaction.
- Financial Management – Forecast and control sales and expenses; hold reports accountable for budgets; review business reports and take corrective actions.
- Safety and Compliance – Ensure compliance with safety regulations; promote a culture of safety for guests and staff.
- Operational Efficiency – Optimize staffing, scheduling, and resource management; assess and improve processes to maximize efficiency.
- Facility Management – Oversee maintenance and cleanliness; coordinate with facility teams to address issues promptly.
- 10+ years of proven leadership in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment (hospitality, entertainment, or retail).
- Strong track record of leading, developing, and motivating teams.
- Experience overseeing daily operations of a complex facility, including guest services, food & beverage, retail, and safety.
- Experience managing guest service teams focused on exceptional guest experiences.
- Strong understanding of customer satisfaction metrics and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Financial management skills: forecasting, budgeting, expense control.
- Ability to analyze business performance and take corrective actions to meet profitability.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and ability to ensure compliance.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships.
- Ability to obtain required licenses and certifications for the location.
The role requires frequent movement on‑site, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs, extended periods of sitting and screen use, and the ability to navigate varied facility environments.
