Electrical Project Estimator - Commercial / Industrial Commercial & Industrial | West Tennessee | $38.25–$43.25 hourly Monday–Friday | Day Shift | No Overnight Travel
Jack Hornsby Electric is adding an experienced Electrical Project Estimator to help identify opportunities, price projects accurately, and turn customer needs into successful bids.
This is a hands‑on estimating role for someone who understands commercial and industrial electrical work in the field and knows how to translate drawings, specifications, labor requirements, and material costs into a strong proposal.
You'll work closely with general contractors, customers, vendors, and internal project teams, giving you a direct role in both winning new work and setting projects up for success afterward.
What You'll Own- Estimate commercial and industrial electrical projects from plans, specifications, and bid packages
- Complete detailed material and labor takeoffs
- Analyze project scope, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
- Develop accurate, competitive pricing and professional proposals
- Communicate with customers and GCs to clarify scope and identify project needs
- Request and compare vendor pricing while maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Track bids, follow up on opportunities, and help move qualified projects toward award
- Assist with project handoff and coordinate with Project Managers after the sale
- Monitor changes in labor costs, material pricing, and local market conditions
- Help identify practical solutions that meet customer requirements while protecting project margins
- 5-7 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience
- Experience in electrical estimating is required
- Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and bid documents
- Proven experience performing detailed electrical takeoffs
- Comfortable communicating with customers, vendors, and contractors
- Strong pricing, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with electrical estimating software preferred
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a broader project team
- $38.25–$43.25/hr
