Cleary Construction is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Natural Gas Project Manager Assistant to support Project Managers in the planning, estimating, execution, and successful completion of natural gas construction projects. The ideal candidate will assist with project coordination, estimating, bid preparation, scheduling, cost tracking, subcontractor communication, and project documentation while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of natural gas distribution and transmission construction projects.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout packages.
  • Support project scheduling, resource allocation, and material procurement activities.
  • Track project costs, budgets, production quantities, and job progress.
  • Coordinate with field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and utility representatives.
  • Assist in preparing project reports, forecasts, and progress updates for management.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and utility standards.
  • Support safety compliance and quality control initiatives throughout all phases of construction.
  • Attend project meetings and maintain accurate meeting minutes and action items.
  • Monitor project milestones and assist in identifying and resolving project issues.
  • Assist with preparing detailed cost estimates for natural gas construction projects.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
  • Support bid preparation, proposal development, and bid submission processes.
  • Analyze project risks and opportunities during the estimating phase.
  • Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
  • Collaborate with project management and operations teams during project handoff.
Software & Technical Requirements
  • Proficient in HCSS Heavy Bid for estimating, bid preparation, cost analysis, and project pricing.
  • Experience using Bluebeam Revu for digital plan review, quantity takeoffs, markups, and document management.
  • Familiarity with project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and construction management platforms.
  • Ability to read and interpret utility plans, construction drawings, and specifications.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in construction project coordination, estimating, project administration, or utility construction preferred.
  • Experience with natural gas, utility, pipeline, or underground construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of construction estimating principles and project controls.
