Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform routine member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, check cashing, cashier's checks, and money orders.
  • Possess basic math and computer skills.
  • Assist members in opening new accounts and verify information with outside services as required, ensuring eligibility for membership.
  • Navigate Microsoft Office applications and the Episys Core System.
  • Post routine transactions to the computer system independently, determining authorization for transactions on member accounts.
  • Examine checks for endorsements and negotiability, placing appropriate holds as needed.
  • Provide members with proper receipts for their transactions.
  • Understand and cross-sell all services offered by the credit union.
  • Process stop payments on share drafts, ACH, and bill payments.
  • Provide members with account status, including current balances, loan payoffs, and account history.
  • Accurately complete forms such as card orders, reloads, travel cards, card/check pick-ups, card disputes, and order checks via the core.
  • Balance daily transactions quickly and accurately throughout the day and during closing, adhering to cash drawer limits.
  • Demonstrate dependability and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Scan member checks through ITC.
  • Provide member phone, online chat, and email support.
  • Accurately perform Shared Branching transactions, reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Find dividend rates on deposit accounts; direct members to branch locations, business hours, and telephone numbers; navigate the SCCU website and assist members.
  • Courteously respond to member requests and complaints, directing them to the appropriate person if needed.
  • Participate in and promote the credit union movement.
  • Complete any additional duties assigned by management necessary for the promotion and continuance of the credit union.
