Position Summary
Administers accommodations and supports students with disabilities in their courses according to their individual accommodations. Provides instructional support to students and faculty related to accessibility.
Duties & Responsibilities- Provide access to content in the form of notes from course lectures, boards, overheads, movies, videos, Q&A sessions, discussions, and field trips as designated by the student, in the student's preferred writing style and format.
- Edit and format class notes to meet the student's processing needs and deliver the notes following DRC policy.
- Provide visual support by reading books, handouts, board work, overheads and exams to students who require audio content access.
- Type or write student dictation and perform text typing in situations to overcome student barriers with manipulation.
- Operate peripheral computer equipment per student accommodation to address specific barriers.
- Support students with disabilities in accessing various aspects of the college per direction of the DRC.
- Support testing for students, both on campus and virtually.
- Support other accessibility‑related projects college wide.
- Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and wear personal protective gear if required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
