Richland Community College is seeking part-time tutors for the Academic Success Center on campus. Tutors will assist students in subject areas including English, Math, Reading, Biology, Economics, Physics, and Nursing. Hours vary by semester and may include evenings and weekends. Salary will be commensurate with education level.

Job Description: Richland Community College is seeking part-time tutors for our Academic Success Center on campus. Tutors will help students with English, Math, Reading, Biology, Economics, Physics, and Nursing. The hours and days will vary.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in math, reading, writing, biology, chemistry, or other specified academic area of expertise. Strong interpersonal skills to work with individuals of varying abilities, ages, and needs. Math tutors must have completed college-level Calculus I (or higher) with a grade of C or better.
Responsibilities: Provide in-person and/or online tutoring in the tutor’s area of expertise for Richland Community College students to promote retention and success. Maintain a quiet, conducive learning environment in the tutoring center. Complete required documentation and trainings. Use college-approved systems and tools (e.g., Zoom) to deliver online tutoring services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Content knowledge in area of expertise and any other course-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or higher. Classroom instruction and/or tutoring experience.
Physical Demands: Operate teaching and learning aids; receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information effectively; spend prolonged periods standing or sitting when working with students; relate positively to all students.
