At Micah Children’s Academy, we’re looking for an Assistant Director who is more than support staff—we’re looking for a partner in leadership. Someone who can step in with confidence, lead with heart, and help carry the vision of a school built on Jewish values, community, joy, and meaningful early childhood experiences.
This role isn’t about sitting behind a desk. It’s about being in the classrooms, supporting teachers, connecting with families, and helping ensure that every part of our day runs with intention and care.
Who you’ll be working with You’ll work closely with the Director in a collaborative, supportive partnership. This is a leadership team that believes in developing people, not just delegating tasks. You’ll be trusted, included in decision‑making, and encouraged to grow into your full leadership potential.
What your days will look like- Supporting and coaching teachers in real time
- Building relationships with families and guiding them through enrollment
- Managing schedules and helping the school run smoothly day‑to‑day
- Stepping in and leading the school when the Director is out
- Ensuring compliance with Tennessee DHS regulations while maintaining a warm, welcoming environment
- Stepping into classrooms when needed—because we lead from within, not from the sidelines
- Helping maintain a culture where both children and educators feel supported, valued, and inspired
You’ll be in the middle of it all—in the best way.
What we’re offeringA full-time leadership role in a strong, connected school community
A schedule that supports work-life balance (Monday–Friday)
Salary
Paid time off and benefits
A leadership environment where your voice matters
The opportunity to grow, develop, and make a lasting impact
What we’re looking for- Experience teaching (at least 2 years) or managing in a licensed childcare setting (leadership experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of Tennessee DHS licensing requirements
- A calm, confident presence—someone who can navigate both a child’s big emotions and a parent’s questions with care
- A natural ability to lead, organize, and follow through
- Someone who takes initiative and ownership, rather than waiting to be directed
- A deep respect for early childhood and a belief in play‑based learning
- Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with a collaborative mindset who genuinely loves this work—someone who sees both the big picture and the small, meaningful moments that make each day special.
If you’re ready to step into a leadership role where you’re supported, challenged, and valued—we’d love to meet you.
