The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is currently accepting applications for an Adjunct Welding/Ag Mechanics Dual Enrollment Instructor located at Munford High School. This part‑time role is offered as a 10‑month contract and involves a weekly commitment of 25 hours.
The successful candidate will provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom/lab, with significant emphasis on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or GED.
- Technical degree or diploma from an accredited institution.
- Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in industry; five (5) years preferred.
- Must be proficient in Oxyacetylene cutting, Plasma cutting, Oxyacetylene Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).
- Must have knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting; farm safety regulations and practices; basic math and measurements, blueprint or technical diagram reading; and agricultural systems and operations.
- Possess communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor.
- Show evidence of good character, organizational skills, and a mature attitude.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
- Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with students, the public, community & industry partners, and other faculty and staff.
- Skilled in managing deadlines and working in a team‑oriented environment.
- Commitment to utilizing technology in teaching/learning experience and willingness to stay up to date in developing instructional technologies.
- Provide instruction to students in all phases of the Welding and Ag Mechanics program curriculums.
- Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students’ progress, maintain student records in the college’s and high school’s student records management software, maintain appropriate documentation, and submit timely reports.
- Ensure compliance with all college and high school policies, accreditation standards, and dual enrollment requirements.
- Collaborate with high school personnel and college program coordinators to support student achievement and program success.
- Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned by the President, Vice President, Lead Student Service Coordinator, Dual Enrollment Coordinator and Lead Instructor.
Salary
:
In accordance with Tennessee Board of Regents guidelines and the TCAT Northwest Compensation Plan.
