Adjunct Welding​/Ag Mechanics Dual Enrollment Instructor; Part-Time

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is currently accepting applications for an Adjunct Welding/Ag Mechanics Dual Enrollment Instructor located at Munford High School. This part‑time role is offered as a 10‑month contract and involves a weekly commitment of 25 hours.

The successful candidate will provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom/lab, with significant emphasis on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical degree or diploma from an accredited institution.
• Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in industry; five (5) years preferred.
• Must be proficient in Oxyacetylene cutting, Plasma cutting, Oxyacetylene Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).
• Must have knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting; farm safety regulations and practices; basic math and measurements, blueprint or technical diagram reading; and agricultural systems and operations.
• Possess communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor.
• Show evidence of good character, organizational skills, and a mature attitude.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
• Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with students, the public, community & industry partners, and other faculty and staff.
• Skilled in managing deadlines and working in a team‑oriented environment.
• Commitment to utilizing technology in teaching/learning experience and willingness to stay up to date in developing instructional technologies.

• Provide instruction to students in all phases of the Welding and Ag Mechanics program curriculums.
• Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students’ progress, maintain student records in the college’s and high school’s student records management software, maintain appropriate documentation, and submit timely reports.
• Ensure compliance with all college and high school policies, accreditation standards, and dual enrollment requirements.
• Collaborate with high school personnel and college program coordinators to support student achievement and program success.
• Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned by the President, Vice President, Lead Student Service Coordinator, Dual Enrollment Coordinator and Lead Instructor.

Salary

In accordance with Tennessee Board of Regents guidelines and the TCAT Northwest Compensation Plan.
