Description
Purpose
Specializing in Middle and High School admissions to support the Office of Enrollment in advancing the mission of our K-12 school; to participate in all areas of recruitment, evaluation, enrollment of new students each year, and to assist in the day-to-day admissions operations.
Responsibilities
- Represent the school and its program to prospective families through tours, meetings, fairs, and other community events
- Develop and maintain relationships with applicant families by providing counsel throughout the admissions process
- Maintain communication and follow-up with applicant families in a timely manner, via phone and email
- Help recruit and manage student and parent volunteers in support of the admissions process
- Help manage scheduling of tours, shadow visits, student interviews, and assessments
- Assist in event planning, including Preview Day, ISEE, school visits, and new student/family welcomes
- Read all files in appropriate divisional admissions committees
- Attend weekly staff meetings, appropriate faculty/staff meetings, and School Renewal committee meetings
- Help with the on-boarding process for new families
- Help evaluate and improve the admissions process
- Attend school events to maintain a demonstrable understanding of and appreciation for the school’s programs
- Assume additional duties as determined by the Director of Enrollment
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Two to three years of experience in admissions, enrollment management, recruiting, or independent school teaching/counseling
- Bilingual or multilingual is desirable
- Integrity and a sense of humor
- Keen understanding of the need for discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
- Attention to detail, with strong collaborative and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of and appreciation for diversity, equity, and inclusion work
- Proficiency with technology, including databases and spreadsheets
- Ability to collect and interpret data and trends
- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced setting
- Excitement for working with children
- Ability to work tight deadlines
- Proven dedication to achieving objectives through adaptable problem-solving
