Training & Development Specialist – Jackson, TN
MAT Holdings Inc. seeks an experienced Training & Development Specialist to lead all training efforts at our Jackson, TN facility. In this role you will design, deliver, and evaluate innovative training programs that empower teams, foster leadership, and drive operational excellence in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Position Responsibilities & Specialized Skillset Requirements- Bilingual communication – Spanish and English fluency strongly preferred.
- Training program design – Build structured training plans, including JSTM content, certification pathways, and role‑specific learning objectives tailored to manufacturing operations.
- Manufacturing process knowledge – Understand production workflows, safety protocols, equipment operation, and quality standards to align training with operational needs.
- On‑the‑floor coaching – Provide hands‑on instruction, job shadowing, and real‑time performance coaching in a non‑climate‑controlled environment.
- SOP & visual aid development – Create, revise, and maintain standard operating procedures, visual work instructions, and training materials.
- Skills assessment & certification – Evaluate employee competencies, conduct skills gap analyses, and manage certification and recertification processes.
- Training data management – Maintain accurate training records, track compliance metrics, and report training status to leadership.
- Succession planning support – Partner with HR to develop individual development plans and support long‑term talent pipeline strategies.
- Change adaptability – Adjust training approaches based on evolving business priorities, new equipment, or process improvements.
- Instructional leadership – Lead group training, facilitate workshops, and influence learning culture across all levels.
- Associate degree in Education, Science, Business, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of training or teaching experience required; manufacturing experience preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and team‑working skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and lead training sessions effectively.
- Work in a non‑climate‑controlled environment with heat and cold exposure.
- Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Stand for prolonged periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Hear sounds and differentiate between them; use visual understanding of distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, focus, and color vision.
