Assessment And Behavior Support Clerk
Reports To:
Building Administrator
Term: 10 months (190-day calendar), Non-exempt
Job Goal:
To partner with school staff and others to enhance team building, conflict resolution, decision making, time management, safe school environment and facilitation of alternative thinking strategies and behaviors.
Qualifications And Training:
At least 48 college semester hours or High School Diploma or GED and passing score on the Praxis Para Pro Assessment Experience in working with at-risk student populations or students with social, emotional and/or behavior challenges FBI/TBI Fingerprint/Background Clearance every five (5) years Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent might find appropriate and acceptable.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assesses and record incidents of misbehavior and progress (on-target behaviors,) including data points to measure rate of progress toward appropriate behaviors.
- Utilizes Social Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies in providing behavior intervention and support.
- Collaborates with school leadership team and counselors to assess, develop, and implement initiatives to address social emotional wellness.
- Supports Positive Behavior Intervention initiatives.
- Provides assistance with de-escalating student behaviors.
- Works with students individually or in integrated setting.
- Reinforces the teaching of appropriate replacement behaviors, coping strategies and social skills to support academics.
- Utilizes and refer to a variety of student support structures.
- Assists in creating a safe and supportive school environment where positive change and growth are possible.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the building administrator.
