TITLE:
Electrical Engineering Specialist
This position is responsible for supporting the activities of the electrical/electronic department, including guidance and support of electrical maintenance, as well as the initiation and completion of process improvement projects.
Qualifications- 0‑5 years Electrical Engineering experience in an industrial maintenance environment
- Associates of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent
- PLC, HMI, and variable speed drive programming
- PC maintenance, troubleshooting and repair
- Good communication skills and ability to multi‑task
- Some nights and weekends work may be required
- Consistent, dependable attendance and willingness to accommodate non‑standard work hours as needed
- Capability to manage job‑related stress and foster productive workplace interactions
- Programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, PCs, and AC/DC variable frequency drives
- Assist Electrical Technicians with troubleshooting equipment issues
- Maintain backups of PLC, HMI, and variable frequency drive configurations and program files
- Maintain PC backups and equipment documentation
- Design, assemble, and install new electrical equipment and systems as required
- Initiate and complete improvement projects
- Assist Senior Electrical Engineer with training of department personnel
- Identify parts and assist spare‑parts coordinator, engineering specialist, and manager with requisition and inventory of spare parts and equipment
- Ensure safety in the workplace
- Maintain professional certifications and keep up to date on all procedures and policy changes
- Assist Senior Electrical Engineer with Engineering Specialist support for the Electrical Maintenance Department
- Comply with all SQF procedures as required and report any food safety problems to a member of management or SF Practitioner
- Manufacturing Environment
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
- Loud noise
