Senior Industrial Design Engineer, Engineering & Innovation Design Engineering

Job : –  Services LLC – We are seeking a Design Engineering Leader to spearhead the development of next‑generation sortation systems within World Wide Engineering & Innovation (WWEI) for the North American Sort Center (NASC). This pivotal role will significantly influence both design and process engineering initiatives and requires a proven leader with experience in complex engineering projects, automation, and logistics systems.

The successful candidate will contribute to hundreds of transformative projects annually, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and join a diverse project portfolio of new facilities, renovations, and retrofits.

The role requires 25% global travel to interface with business and technical leaders and offers opportunities to work with industry‑leading technology and talent on high‑impact projects.

• Lead strategic design initiatives for our global sortation and transportation network, optimizing equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layouts while protecting intellectual property.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams and vendors to deliver cost‑effective innovations under tight deadlines.
• Guide large‑scale engineering projects from conception to completion, providing technical leadership and ensuring operational excellence.
• Communicate strategic visions, detailed implementation roadmaps, and technical solutions to senior executives, translating complex engineering concepts into compelling business cases.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, contractors, and vendors.
• Drive innovation in package sortation and develop optimal solutions for equipment specification and material flow.
• Create efficient process designs and site layouts, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.
• Generate cost‑effective solutions under time constraints.

• 5+ years of design and innovation, research and development work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent.
• Experience managing engineering design projects and in design and innovation of complex automated systems including robotics, material handling equipment, and high‑speed manufacturing.
• Proficiency with business or technical software such as MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software.
• Experience with design innovation, R&D, and manufacturing processes.

• 5+ years of specialty experience with progressive responsibility.
• Master’s degree in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, electronic system design, and decision making.
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and high‑speed manufacturing.
• Experience with design‑in‑safety.

Salary ranges for this position are:

• Nashville, TN – $ – $ USD annually
• Bellevue, WA – $ – $ USD annually
