Overview
Reports to the Department Manager of Production Engineering for the development of electrical controls of automation equipment used on production lines. Assesses electrical components of existing controls for repair, replacement, and/or modification. Evaluates the need and feasibility of new controls. Creates and maintains PLC programming for production equipment.
Responsibilities- Design and build controls for new automation; develop schematic diagrams for wiring.
- Estimate costs for controls for new automation and maintenance of existing automation.
- Manage vendors and independent contractors used for new equipment and repair.
- Write new programming for new automation and troubleshoot existing programs.
- Maintain knowledge of production engineering designed databases, serial number software, and other databases.
- Familiarity with mechanical design of production line equipment and conveyor systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 4 years of experience or 12 years of related experience.
- PLC programming experience required.
- Proficient in controls design, building, and programming.

CompensationThe compensation range for this role is $51,800–$97,000. The listed salary range excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. Employees may also be eligible to receive annual discretionary incentive awards and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
