Loan Officer - Jackson, TN

INSOUTH Bank is seeking a Loan Officer to join our growing team in Jackson, TN.

The purpose of this job is to generate loans for the overall profitability of the bank, while adhering to bank policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.

• Serve as a branch loan officer, accepting and evaluating loan applications and facilitating the loan process for consumers and businesses.
• Explain to customers the different types of loans and credit options available and recommend the best product for the applicant.
• Obtain applicants’ credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.
• Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit, and collateral to determine risk and feasibility of granting the loan.
• Handle customer loan inquiries, problem resolution, loan administration, and underwriting.
• Meet time-sensitive tasks.
• Generate new loan volume through customer calls.
• Engage in business retention and development.
• Maintain complete knowledge of loan policies and procedures.
• Understand federal lending regulations.
• Perform financial analysis.
• Participate in community and civic involvement, if possible.
• Complete assigned annual training requirements.
• Meet specific goals and expectations.

Experience with progressive responsibilities in loans, proven knowledge and skills in all aspects of loan documentation and lending-related compliance, along with strong organizational and administrative skills. At minimum, a High School diploma or equivalent in combination with prior banking or lending knowledge is required. An Associate’s Degree is preferred. For advanced lending roles, a four-year degree and/or additional experience are preferred.

Bilingual skills are a plus.
