Job Summary

The Universal Banker II combines teller and sales responsibilities to provide exceptional service to members and potential members of Georgia’s Own Credit Union.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet members in person, over the phone, or digitally and ensure they feel valued.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan/credit card payments, loan advances, cashier’s checks, and savings bonds.
  • Maintain accurate balancing records and perform ATM, branch recap, vault teller, and teller cashbox duties.
  • Handle member account openings, closings, and maintenance, including consumer and business memberships.
  • Notarize or guarantee signatures, when authorized, and approve checks and file maintenances.
  • Complete loan applications, notify members of decisions, and manage loan documentation.
  • Provide consultative sales for deposit products, loans, and other credit union services.
  • Document member interactions and follow‑ups in the IRM system.
  • Assist with inbound and outbound telephone services and support community / business development initiatives.
  • Perform supervisory overrides, approve check holds, fee reversals, and communicate with leadership when the Community Manager is absent.
  • Onboard new employees and provide training as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma (equivalent experience); bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three to five years’ experience in a financial branch or comparable retail sales environment.
  • Coverage at other branches and ability to work a Saturday rotation schedule.
  • Strong communication skills in written and verbal formats.
  • Experience with loan application processes and internal policies.
  • Knowledge of industry offers, market trends, and credit union lending policies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interpret financial information‑related to credit scores, debt, assets, balances, rates, and perform basic math functions.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills with sound judgment.
  • Background check clearance (credit, drug screen, bondability, criminal).
Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, and lift or push up to 10 lbs. Clerical duties are performed at a desk or table in an office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.
