Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced and strategic tax leader to join a growing organization as Director of Tax. This position will oversee U.S. tax operations while partnering cross-functionally with finance and business leadership to support corporate objectives, ensure compliance, and drive process improvements.
This role offers exposure to a broad range of tax initiatives including corporate income tax, indirect tax matters, strategic tax planning, acquisitions and integrations, tax credits and incentives, cross-border compliance, and tax risk management. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities Corporate Income Tax- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provisions and related reconciliations
- Manage corporate tax return preparation and filings
- Support R&D and other tax credit initiatives
- Calculate estimated tax payments
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and cross-border reporting requirements
- Lead and manage IRS and state tax audits
- Oversee sales & use tax reporting and compliance
- Manage property tax compliance and appeals
- Support indirect tax audits and related activities
- Support valuation, forecasting, and financial modeling activities
- Assist with tax-related financial statement disclosures
- Evaluate tax incentives and planning opportunities
- Partner with leadership on tax strategies related to acquisitions, integrations, reorganizations, and other business initiatives
- Research and communicate the impact of new or proposed tax legislation
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing tax team
- Maintain strong internal controls and documentation processes
- Collaborate with internal departments and external advisors
- Drive continuous improvement through automation and process enhancements
- Support internal audits and compliance training initiatives
- Occasional travel may be required
- CPA designation required
- Master of Tax or advanced tax education is a plus
- 9+ years of corporate income tax experience required
- Industry experience preferred; public accounting candidates with strong corporate tax experience will also be considered
- Experience with indirect taxes, tax credits, and incentives preferred
- Proven leadership and team development experience
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
- Experience with sales & use tax and property tax required
- Exposure to international tax concepts and cross-border reporting preferred
- Experience working in a SOX-controlled environment preferred
