Part-time Medical Assistant II

Job Details:
Location – Jackson, TN 38305;
Travel – negligible;

• Support both front desk and medical assistant functions, cross‑training as required.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, staff, vendors and community members in person and over the phone.
• Greet, check in and verify patient demographic, medical and insurance information.
• Maintain accurate patient accounts, records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Schedule new patient appointments, follow‑ups, referrals and diagnostic testing appointments.
• Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and other required measurements.
• Review and confirm medical histories; update records as needed.
• Collect and process laboratory specimens for testing.
• Assist physicians and licensed providers during patient examinations and procedures.
• Educate patients on physician instructions, medication information and procedural guidance.
• Serve as liaison between patients, providers, specialists and diagnostic facilities to coordinate referrals and continuity of care.
• Maintain and organize medical records, referral documentation and test results to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness, safety, infection control and compliance with biohazard standards.
• Promote a safe, secure, healthy work environment by adhering to policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with clinic operations including opening and closing procedures, patient follow‑up calls, quality improvement initiatives and problem‑solving activities.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering and receipt of medical supplies, medications, linens and office materials.
• Ensure equipment functionality through routine maintenance and coordination of repairs.
• Participate in ongoing education, training and professional development opportunities.
• Adhere to company policies, professional standards and all applicable federal, state and local regulations.
• Demonstrate flexibility by supporting team initiatives, taking ownership of new responsibilities and contributing to practice success.
• Foster positive working relationships with patients, coworkers and providers.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• High school diploma (required).
• Certificate of completion of a medical assistants/aides course (preferred).
• Minimum two years of medical assisting experience.
• Current CPR/BLS certification (required).
• Experience with electronic medical records (preferably ECW).
• Cover My Meds program experience preferred.
• Current ACLS and/or CPR certification (preferable).
