About the RoleChrist Community Health Services is seeking a welcoming, dependable Registration Representative to serve as a first point of contact for patients and support access to care for diverse and underserved populations.
This role manages patient check-in and check-out, registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, payment collection, and demographic and financial information, including sliding fee discount eligibility. The Registration Representative maintains accurate information in the electronic health record and supports efficient clinic flow while protecting patient privacy.

- Register new patients and update existing records with accurate demographic, insurance, income, and contact information in the electronic health record.
- Verify insurance coverage and determine eligibility for the sliding fee discount program in accordance with HRSA requirements.
- Collect copayments, account balances, and other patient payments; issue receipts and maintain accurate cash-handling records.
- Complete end-of-day reports, count collected funds, and reconcile the cash drawer at the close of each business day.
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments while supporting patient access and efficient provider schedules.
- Complete patient check-out, including scheduling follow-up appointments, providing visit summaries, and coordinating referrals as directed.
- Safeguard patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements and organizational privacy policies.
- Use interpreter services and communication resources to assist patients with limited English proficiency.
- Respond professionally to questions regarding services, clinic policies, billing, appointments, and other general information.
- Scan, upload, and manage patient documents in the electronic health record accurately and promptly.
- Monitor patient wait times and elevate concerns to the appropriate team member to support a positive patient experience.
