Guest Service Associate / Valet (Valet Driver) – Soho House, Nashville

The Guest Service Associate/Valet is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. Duties include parking and retrieving guest vehicles in a prompt and safe manner, assisting guests with luggage (delivery and pick‑up), opening vehicle and hotel doors, guiding guests to appropriate destinations, explaining parking rates and retrieval procedures, maintaining accurate ticket information, and collecting revenue for vehicles when required.

Compensation

& Schedule

Hourly base pay: $11 per hour plus $6–$9 per hour in tips.

Possible shifts: weekday evenings, weekend mornings, and some afternoon shifts.

Eligibility for benefits depends on job classification, length of employment, and number of hours worked. Seasonal and temporary roles are not eligible for the benefits outlined above.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients. Acknowledge and greet guests within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor. Use guest last names during interactions.
  • Use the salutation of the day and welcome guests to the location. Practice proper Towne Park phone etiquette. Post up in designated areas when not completing tasks.
  • Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously. Assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed. Opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
  • Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries. Provides guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms, and/or amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area. Delivers messages, items, and/or guest amenities as requested. Shuttles guests to appropriate places that are approved by the location.
  • Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival. Issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys. Consistently completes and maintains all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, location of vehicle, damage survey, and claim check receipt from all vehicles taken into the valet system. Consistently completes location on all key tags after parking vehicle.

    Calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Required Licensure: Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state in which the position is located.
  • Work Experience: One (1) month of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to read and write standard English language.
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
    • Ability to write simple correspondence.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to guests, clients and other employees.
    • Ability to add and subtract three‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
    • Ability to understand 24‑hour and military time systems.
    • Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed.
    • Ability to operate a manual transmission (highly desirable).
    • Perform parallel parking.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Employee frequently sits or stands for extended periods, may run, walk, handle objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, or 20 pounds constantly may be required.

Work is primarily outdoors during extended periods, including exposure to extreme heat and cold weather. Travel of up to 5% may be required.
