We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Level 1 Monitoring Technician to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. This role is responsible for real-time monitoring of network infrastructure, with a specific focus on the 5/3 network environment. The technician will utilize Service Now to log, track, and escalated incidents, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of all network activities and anomalies.
The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of network operations, strong documentation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams. This position plays a critical role in maintaining network stability and visibility by providing first-level support and clear reporting on active events and performance metrics.
- Monitor network systems, servers, and applications using NOC tools and dashboards.
- Respond to alerts and incidents, perform initial diagnostics, and escalate as needed.
- Log and track issues in the ticketing system (e.g., Service Now, Jira).
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for troubleshooting and escalation.
- Communicate outages and incidents to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Assist in generating daily/weekly performance and incident reports.
- Participate in shift rotations to ensure 24/7 coverage.
- Valid CCNA certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
- Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates a proactive attitude to stay ahead of potential issues and seize opportunities early.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing & switching.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Solar Winds, Nagios, Zabbix).
- Experience with ticketing systems and incident management.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- 1+ years of experience in a NOC or IT support role.
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- ITIL Foundation certification is a bonus.
Rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. On-call availability as required.
