Position Overview
Vantage Data Centers powers, cools, protects and connects the technology of the world’s well-known hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises. Developing and operating across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, Vantage has evolved data center design in innovative ways to deliver dramatic gains in reliability, efficiency and sustainability in flexible environments that can scale as quickly as the market demands. The Role can be based in our Denver, CO or Ashburn, VA office in alignment with our flexible work policy.
(3 days onsite required, 2 days flexible) or it can also be based remotely within the US.
Vantage is seeking a consultative designer to join our growing Learning and Development team to focus on designing and developing rich, engaging and scalable learning experiences for role‑specific learning and general learning assets for the Vantage workforce in North America. The ideal candidate will have a strong builder’s mindset, a tolerance for ambiguity, can work with complex design tools, have a passion for creative problem solving and is eager to advise and partner with stakeholders to deliver a quality product.
Additionally, the ideal candidate combines instructional design expertise with a deep understanding of user‑centric design principles to craft scalable learning solutions across various modalities.
- Conduct gap analysis and collaborate to develop clear and measurable objectives and metrics, tying learning to business outcomes for audiences across North America.
- Consult with stakeholders, subject‑matter experts, facilitators, and leadership regarding learning methodology, instructional design principles, and learning data to inform design.
- Integrate multiple channels creatively, including instructor‑led, experiential, and self‑paced learning.
- Design and develop innovative, comprehensive curriculums and certification programs using advanced design/development techniques, including generative AI and adult learning theory.
- Create exercises and activities (audio, video, animations, simulations, presentations, role plays, games, etc.) that enhance the learning process.
- Synthesize and create engaging and effective learning experiences and content based on existing internal content, facilitators, subject‑matter experts, and previous training courses.
- Select appropriate measurement levels for new programs, design measurement tools (e.g., certification processes), and update content as needed.
- Oversee and manage instructional design projects, ensuring timely completion of tasks, adherence to deadlines, and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Maintain project documentation, assets, auditing criteria, compliance regulations, and intellectual property guidelines for internal and third‑party resources.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, User Experience, Human‑Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or equivalent (preferred).
- 3+ years of instructional design experience.
- Excellent portfolio showcasing work.
- Strong experience with conceptualization, design, and production of animation, graphics, video, and e‑learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Rise & Storyline, Easygenerator, Adobe Creative Cloud).
- Incorporate immersive and interactive experiences such as video, simulations, gamification, AR/VR, and in‑person facilitation into learning design strategies.
- Focus on learner journey and user experience (UX) by integrating accessibility and inclusivity principles.
- Strong experience with building scenario‑based learning experiences and/or simulations.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative and innovative mindset with a passion for creating impactful learning experiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with L&D consulting.
- 1‑2 years in a Data Center role, or within a Data Center organization.
- Travel required is expected to be up to 5% (may increase over time).

Additional DetailsSalary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 Base + Bonus (based on Colorado market data but may vary in other locations).

Compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside the listed range.
