RoleSummary
Vice President, Cell Therapy – reports to SVP, Chief Commercial Officer & Country Head (US). This senior leadership role leads the regional directors, manages Autolus CTAEs, and develops corporate relationships with Authorized Treatment Centers (ATCs). The position requires demonstrated success in demand creation, deep technical knowledge, data analysis, and an in‑depth understanding of the medical field and pharmaceutical industry. The VP drives a patient‑focused, customer‑focused, and people‑focused culture, aligning brand strategy with execution to achieve and surpass results.
Responsibilities- Recruit and lead top‑tier field leaders; oversee recruitment, training, development, retention, and leadership of the cell therapy team.
- Establish and maintain a collaborative U.S. commercial culture for Autolus.
- Partner with analytics, BAI, and regional leaders to leverage data for strategic and tactical actions.
- Create learning plans, recommend training and development solutions, and provide mentoring and coaching.
- Align marketing strategy with execution and contribute to brand strategy and promotional plans.
- Balance Autolus Leadership focus areas: CTAE team leadership/vision, day‑to‑day team and ATC business development, demand creation.
- Communicate expectations and strategic direction internally and externally.
- Build and maintain solid customer relationships with key executives, decision‑makers, and influencers at major centers.
- Track and reinforce demand creation effectiveness metrics.
- Oversee staff onboarding, national and regional meetings, teleconferences, and compliance training.
- Accountable for brand performance, ensuring launch goals and long‑term performance targets are met.
- Coach CTAE regional leadership and teams to enhance demand creation skills, product knowledge, customer focus, and resource management.
- Define roles, responsibilities, and measurable outcomes for specialist team activities.
- Represent the company at professional events and promote products.
- Apply business acumen to analyze industry trends, competitor resources, and best practices.
- Lead cross‑functional projects with broad organizational impact.
- Ensure strict compliance with Autolus commercial compliance policies and SOPs.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with +15 years of commercial experience.
- Clinical expertise in hematology/oncology diseases – preferably BMT/CART/Leukemia.
- Experience leading regional leaders responsible for customer‑facing teams (4+ years).
- Successful launch of cell therapy products in a competitive marketplace.
- Strong working knowledge of market access landscape and referral networks.
- Geographic knowledge of targeted academic and non‑academic CAR‑T centers.
- Proven history of leading cross‑functional teams and cultivating a collaborative culture.
- Experience developing national, regional, and market‑specific business plans.
- Capacity to accommodate extensive overnight travel (60%).
- Clarify direction and inspire using good judgement to set clear and compelling goals.
- Deliver goals and plans; create joint plans and hold self and others accountable.
