Position Summary
The Regional Manager is responsible for the overall operational, financial, and team performance of five marina properties located throughout Tennessee and Mississippi. This role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to General Managers, ensuring each property consistently delivers exceptional customer service, achieves financial goals, maintains regulatory compliance, and upholds Southern Marinas' standards of excellence.
The Regional Manager serves as the primary liaison between corporate leadership and property management teams, driving operational consistency, employee development, profitability, and continuous improvement across the region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to General Managers and property leadership teams.
- Ensure all marina operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
- Conduct regular property visits to evaluate operations, facilities, customer service, and overall performance.
- Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure consistency in company policies, procedures, and brand standards across all locations.
- Manage regional budgets and monitor property financial performance.
- Analyze revenue, labor costs, operating expenses, and profitability metrics.
- Partner with General Managers to develop and execute strategies that improve financial performance.
- Review financial reports, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Assist with annual budgeting and capital improvement planning.
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop General Managers and key leadership staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
- Foster a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, safety, and exceptional customer service.
- Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
- Assist with employee relations matters in partnership with Human Resources.
Customer Experience
- Promote outstanding customer service throughout all properties.
- Monitor guest feedback and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Develop initiatives that enhance the overall guest experience and increase customer retention.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and marina regulations.
- Promote and enforce workplace safety programs and OSHA compliance.
- Ensure all properties maintain required licenses, permits, and environmental compliance.
- Conduct operational and safety audits as needed.
Property Maintenance
- Partner with General Managers to maintain marina facilities, equipment, docks, buildings, and grounds.
- Prioritize maintenance projects and capital improvements.
- Ensure preventative maintenance programs are consistently followed.
Strategic Planning
- Assist in developing regional business strategies and operational initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth, operational improvements, and cost savings.
- Participate in acquisitions, property transitions, and integration of new locations as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Marine Operations, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of multi-unit operations management experience.
- Previous leadership experience overseeing multiple locations required.
- Marina, hospitality, recreation, marine, retail, restaurant, or service industry experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, financial reporting, and operational performance.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to analyze data and make strategic business decisions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business management software.
- Experience with payroll, scheduling, and HR systems preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel extensively throughout Tennessee and Mississippi, with occasional overnight travel.
- Ability to walk docks, uneven terrain, and outdoor marina environments.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

- Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work as business needs require.
- Exposure to marine environments, weather conditions, and waterfront operations.
