Summary
The TP and Cubicle Assistant works closely with our experienced production team to learn the ins and outs of the manufacturing process of toilet partitions, and commercial cubicles, from wood veneer, high-pressure, and solid-grade laminate material to final assembly. This is an entry-level position is for candidates eager to develop technical skills, learn how to operate equipment such as finishing machines, drilling machines, laminating equipment, and hand tools, and grow within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following, other duties may be assigned):
- Safety Compliance:
Learns and adheres to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for oneself and colleagues. - Quality Control:
Follows and maintains all aspects of quality and performs quality checks during the manufacturing process and on finished products to ensure they meet required standards and specifications. Understands Bobrick's 4 Grade Quality System and can distinguish and explain between levels of the defect. - Fabrication Tasks:
Assists in various fabrication tasks, such as measuring, building, drilling, laminating, routing, notching, and finishing toilet partition components according to specifications - Follows manufacturing procedures, reads tape measure in inches and millimeters, takes basic measurements to verify the specifications of the finished product, counts inventory, uses hand tools, observes quality defects, and operates pallet jacks.
- Demonstrates understanding of VMP's and JSC's.
- Maintains production and quality standards and meets work demands and deadlines.
- Understands scanning procedures for components.
- Performs basic addition and subtraction required for measuring and cutting materials to be incorporated into finished work.
- Refers to paperwork and pulls consumable hardware to be used for orders.
- Material Handling:
Handles raw materials for production, including moving materials and finished components to and from workstations and pallets, by operating the overhead lift. - Rules of engagement:
Understand the Rules of Engagement in Bobrick Flow manufacturing and follow them. - Able to use various hand tools as required; logs production time accurately in Factory Track and demonstrates basic product knowledge and can differentiate between series.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); experience in woodworking, carpentry, or a related field is a plus.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus, but not required.
- Able to read, write, verbalize in English, follow verbal and written instructions, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
- Has basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Able to understand and convert between metric and imperial units of measure.
- Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Able to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Has strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills in a fast-paced environment.
