Design and develop all aspects of air compressors and air brake tanks. This person will work directly with Marketing, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Quality to develop new products and improve existing products. PositionResponsibilities
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal judgment, diplomacy, respectful engagement, and the ability to navigate difficult conversations.
- Lead assigned projects for new product launch and industrialization.
- Identify project requirements and timing needs to meet customer safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements; check and approve technical drawings.
- Deliver projects by defining, validating, and costing the product, developing and leading project timelines, and supporting industrialization.
- Create and lead value‑improvement and benchmarking projects to improve quality and cost.
- Ensure projects meet compliance standards such as ASME and UL 1450.
- Validate product performance and durability requirements by coordinating testing with the test lab.
- Monitor and manage timelines, coordinate with internal resources, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Use CAD to generate assembly and component models and drawings.
- Write technical instructions for end‑user products and production activities.
- Create GD&T tolerancing schemes appropriate to the design requirements.
- Inspect current production processes for quality and cost concerns and develop counter‑measures collaboratively.
- Analyze field and test failures to determine root causes and recommend or design product improvements.
- Mentor junior engineering staff in best practices.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
