We are currently hiring a warehouse Split Shift Material Handler for our Jackson, TN location. The hours are 10:30am-7:00pm (subject to change based on customer demand/shipping availability). Job Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for efficiently handling, storing, and distributing materials and products within the warehouse. This role involves operating equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the receipt of incoming stock from suppliers, ensuring accurate accounting and proper placement in designated areas.
  • Maintain detailed records of received merchandise and items distributed or stored for future use.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on daily activities, utilizing strong mathematical skills and proficiency in computer systems.
  • Ensure continuous flow of materials to production lines, anticipating needs and preventing shortages.
  • Communicate effectively with Supervisors and Team Leaders via radio, maintaining a professional demeanor while requesting products for production lines.
  • Operate standup forklifts safely and efficiently to transport materials within the facility.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and identify discrepancies.
  • Implement and follow proper safety procedures when handling materials and operating equipment.
  • Collaborate with the production team to optimize material flow and minimize downtime.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse environment.
  • Participate in cycle counts and annual inventory audits as required.
  • Identify and report any damaged or defective materials to appropriate personnel.
  • Stay updated on inventory management best practices and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Must have experience driving a standup forklift.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Relevant experience within the last 5 years.
  • Valid forklift certification required.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to be self‑motivated, and work with little supervision.
  • Ability to stay focused and complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic math skills for inventory calculations and reporting.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
