Position Overview

Machine Welder (Machine Welding & Hand Welding) at MAT Industries Inc., a leading air compressor manufacturer in Jackson, TN. 2nd Shift Monday‑Thursday 3:30 pm‑2:00 am with possible Friday overtime. Base pay: $22.60 per hour plus $2.50 per hour shift differential

• MIG welding multiple attachments – 12 gauge to .179" brackets and tubing.
• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
• Conduct quality inspections of work and maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques.
• Maintain equipment in good working condition and report maintenance and safety concerns.
• Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits on production items.
• Provide data to assist in monitoring and tracking project status.
• Assist in training of junior employees and inspect their work.
• Sign off on completed work orders and quality of work.
• Follow all company policies, safety regulations, and encourage co‑workers to do the same.
• Actively participate in the development of a LEAN manufacturing culture.
• May perform various duties that do not always require hand welding, such as operating various welding and non‑welding equipment to meet customer demand.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Relevant experience in MIG welding and must pass on‑site MIG weld test.
• Ability to work as scheduled.
