Blown Film Operator

Printpack Jackson – an industry leader in flexible packaging – is looking for a qualified candidate to fill our Blown Operator position. The ideal candidate will possess initiative, communication and computer skills, as well as the ability to troubleshoot issues.

• Operate Blown Film Line equipment to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with plant leadership to drive results in the key metrics of safety, waste, productivity and quality.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues.
• Execute machine adjustments to maintain product specifications.
• Perform regular equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor and maintain product quality according to established standards.
• Coordinate the efficient execution of all changeovers, weekly PMs, and scheduled production activities.
• Champion workplace safety initiatives and protocols.
• Promote and maintain a safety‑first culture.
• Serve as a resource regarding PRISM shop floor transaction information.
• Act as a change agent in developing a positive culture focused on continuous improvement.
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
• Make informed decisions regarding production issues.
• Evaluate and prioritize operational needs.

• Stable work history.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

• Basic computer proficiency including email.
• Ability to accurately read and use measuring tools.
• Self‑directed and task‑oriented with the ability to multitask.
• Problem‑solving capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good organizational skills.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift materials as required.
• Good communication skills.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass pre‑employment assessments.
• Drug screening required.
• Background check required.

• Basic understanding of blown film processes and equipment.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
• Understanding of quality control standards.
• Knowledge of PRISM or similar manufacturing software systems.
• Basic mathematical concepts and measurements.
• Strong time management capabilities.
• Understand basic equipment maintenance and cleaning.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb, kneel, bend, and squat.
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs.
• Ability to work from heights.
• Proficiency in grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine motor skills.
• Manual dexterity for machine operation and maintenance.
• Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses).
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift and pallet jack certification.

• Noise levels above 80 dB.
• Operation of complex machinery.
• Exposure to solvents, fumes and inks.
• Variable temperatures.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Additional $2.50/hr premium for NIGHT Shift between 7pm‑7am.
