Current Starting Pay: $22.46

Finish Painter

Operate and tend high volume low pressure (HVLP) pump-style spray guns to apply industrial grade finishes to tow trucks and other equipment ensuring a flawless high-gloss finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sand and prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Ensure surfaces are clean, smooth, and ready to accept new paint.
  • Apply topcoat to achieve high gloss finish.
  • Read blueprints to understand parts and how they relate to each other.
  • Inspect and evaluate the quality of the finished product.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule and according to specifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a painter with in-depth knowledge mixing and matching paint colors and chemicals.
  • Proficiency in setting up, using, and maintaining gravity-fed HVLP guns and pump-style spray systems.
  • Keen technique for polishing and buffing to achieve a flawless smooth result.
  • Comprehension of technical documentation and instructions to ensure correct mixing ratios and application methods.
Essential Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Required to stand, walk, climb, sit, balance, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
  • Frequently required to use fingers, hands, and arms to handle and reach.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to wear a full-face respirator with filtration during paint operations.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to weather conditions: precipitation, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
  • Required to wear hearing protection in loud environment.
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles (toxic or caustic chemicals).
  • Ability to frequently be exposed to flashing lights.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment in designated areas.
