Introduction
Blue Oval SK, a joint venture between Ford and SKOn, is leading the transformation of the electric‑vehicle battery business by building advanced manufacturing facilities in Kentucky and Tennessee.
OpportunityThe Production Operator will play a key role in launching the new facilities, working in four production areas and cross‑training across operations.
Wages and Shift- $21/hour starting wage for first 90 days
- $23.50/hour after 90 days
- Opportunity to make up to $27/hour
- $1/hour shift premium for night shift
- Two scheduled increases in hourly wage rate each year of continuous employment
- Regular performance bonus payments
- Operate and troubleshoot computerized manufacturing equipment for lithium‑ion battery production.
- Conduct quality checks, perform visual inspections, and maintain continuous image inspections.
- Follow work orders, instructions, and specifications before initiating production lots.
- Measure samples accurately using provided equipment.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and identify non‑conforming items.
- Conduct equipment inspections per inspection guide.
- Communicate effectively in a team environment and adhere to protocol policies.
- Work up to 12+ hours per shift, including standing and walking on varied terrain.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 30lbs.—use motorized assistance as needed.
- Perform stooping, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Use PPE: safety glasses, shoes, suits, bump caps, hearing protection, respirators, and gloves.
- Work quickly while maintaining craftsmanship and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Comfortable with new technology.
- One year of manufacturing experience.
- Judgment and Decision Making – choose the best action among alternatives.
- Critical Thinking – use logic to evaluate solutions.
- Reading Comprehension – understand written documents.
- Writing – communicate effectively on paper.
