Machine Operator, Manufacturing & Industrial Operations, Assembly
Base Pay
$16.25 - $18.25 per hour
Shift7:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday
ResponsibilitiesThe Machine Operator I is responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. They must have thorough knowledge of production techniques and the ability to produce quality building parts.
- Understands and follows safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environment
- Ability to set-up and operate machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form, or paint quality finished or semi-finished parts
- Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment
- Operate various CNC-controlled machines, such as presses, lasers, and rolling mills in a fast-paced production setting, with an emphasis on safety and quality
- Performs routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation
- Marks part numbers, order numbers, and the number of pieces on parts. Attaches identification tags as required for customer to locate correct parts
- Interprets blueprints, specifications, and other technical data to select the correct raw material or semi-finished parts
- Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree
- 3+ years of experience in fabrication/manufacturing is preferred
- Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Must have a high attention to detail to consistently produce quality product
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Will lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and more with assistance
- The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, and near acuity
