We are seeking an experienced Custom Cabinet Shop Manager to oversee daily operations of our cabinet shop, manage production workflow, and ensure high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with custom cabinetry as well as stock cabinet lines, and the ability to lead a team while balancing production schedules, quality control, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day operations of the cabinet shop, including production scheduling and workflow
- Oversee custom cabinetry projects from design review through fabrication and installation
- Manage ordering, handling, and integration of stock cabinet lines alongside custom work
- Lead, train, and supervise shop staff, installers, and subcontractors as needed
- Ensure quality control standards are met for both custom and stock cabinetry
- Coordinate with designers, sales staff, and clients to meet project specifications and deadlines
- Monitor materials, inventory, and equipment maintenance
- Enforce shop safety standards and best practices
- Assist with estimating, job costing, and process improvements to improve efficiency and profitability
- 5+ years of experience in cabinetry or woodworking, including custom cabinetry
- Proven experience working with stock cabinet lines (ordering, modifications, installation coordination)
- Prior management or supervisory experience in a cabinet shop or similar environment
- Strong understanding of cabinet construction methods, materials, and finishes
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and specifications
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and quality
- Experience with CNC equipment and/or cabinet design software
- Knowledge of installation practices and field coordination
- Familiarity with job costing and production efficiency metrics
