Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition – Rutherford County Latiné Lead Electoral Organizer
Position:
Part‑Time Temporary (30 hours/week, up to December 31 2025) in Rutherford County, Tennessee.
- Create and implement voter registration events in Rutherford County.
- Mobilize voters, volunteers, and community members to encourage voting, invite them to virtual events and webinars, and answer questions from potential voters.
- Create Spanish‑speaking spaces and education opportunities for Latiné immigrant and refugee voters across the state.
- Collect and compile stories of first and second‑generation immigrant and refugee voters to share via social media.
- Organize immigrant and refugee youth to attend the TIRRC Votes youth summit in October.
- Share information about relevant policy changes, campaigns, and services to various community groups via email, text, and social media.
- Attend online or virtual community meetings and events to recruit supporters, prospective volunteers, and share information about TIRRC Votes.
- Attend outdoor community events to represent the organization.
- Recruit, train, and prepare individual and organizational volunteers to phone bank and canvas for advocacy efforts and Get Out the Vote campaigns across Rutherford County.
- Phone bank and doorknock for the Congressional District 7 special election in areas such as North Nashville and Clarksville when needed.
- Enter data and contacts into organizational databases.
- Represent the organization in traditional, ethnic, and social media as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Belief in TIRRC Votes’ mission and commitment to social justice.
- Familiarity with Rutherford County preferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with diverse communities.
- Strong computer skills and experience with VAN, MiniVAN, Every Action, Spoke, Thru Text, and Mobilize preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends, and the possibility of travel.
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in another language preferred.
- Must be able to drive themselves and others to and from destinations across Rutherford County.
Hourly Rate: $29 per hour for 30 hours per week.
