Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation, Tennessee’s largest, freestanding, private, not for profit Rehabilitation Hospital is searching for RNs and LPNs to add to our award‑winning team. At Siskin, your Patient to Nurse ratio is 1:12 on average, for both day and night shifts.

Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Night Supervisor, and Director of Nursing, our RNs and LPNs are responsible for providing direction and supervision to nursing personnel. RNs at SHPR also coordinate educational activities and develop and implement teaching and discharge plans with our patients and their families.

You’ll provide hands‑on care for assigned patients by utilizing the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe care and restoration of maximal physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health. This care will be individualized and appropriate for the age of the patient served, including adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient.

Nursing staff will need to be somewhat flexible to meet the needs of our patient population, including weekends, holidays, and a rotating schedule.

Nursing staff is responsible for following Standard Precautions (Universal Precaution and BSI) procedure including Transmission based isolation as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents Education
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with current, unrestricted licensure as RN by the State of Tennessee.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Practical Nursing with current, unrestricted licensure as LPN by the State of Tennessee.
Experience
  • Two years designated experience in acute care desired or participation in an appropriate orientation and/or refresher program.
Licensure/Certification
  • Current Tennessee State RN or LPN licensure.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • ACLS within one year of employment preferred – for RNs.
  • CRRN preferred when eligible for exam – for RNs.
  • LPNs – Advanced IV Therapy Certification – If not certified upon hire, must complete within 3 months. New graduates must complete their certification within 12 months of hire.
Working Knowledge of
  • Frequently used patient care and safety equipment use.
  • Medication administration (RNs).
  • Frequently performed patient treatments.
  • Emergency procedures.
Physical/Mental Requirements

Must be able to lift objects more than fifty pounds and assist with patient transfers (exceeding 200 pounds).

Manual dexterity and coordination with the ability to perform moderately difficult manipulative skills such as positioning patients and performance of tasks requiring arm‑hand steadiness.

Able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.

Ability to remember task assignments for varying periods of time.

Must be able to concentrate on fine detail with frequent interruptions and remember multiple tasks given to self and others over long periods of time.

Environmental and Working Conditions

Exposure to blood, body tissue and hazardous waste materials. May be exposed to infectious diseases.
